Home >> Topical Booklists ![]() Daily Dose of Reading has developed topical booklists for families. These lists were created around sensitive topics that parents may need help addressing with their children. Books can assist children as they work through problems or deal with feelings about a particular subject. Reading a story about a character that successfully resolves a familiar dilemma can be powerful for children. Children may discover coping skills or a possible course of action when reading about a character with a problem like their own. For children who have a hard time verbalizing their feelings, stories can help facilitate discussion and self-understanding. Parents, please be sure to pre-read books you may be interested in to be sure they are appropriate for your child and his/her situation.
