Home >> About the Program Daily Dose of ReadingTM is a 501 (c) (3) organization. It was founded to create a partnership among pediatric health care providers and families in an effort to promote literacy in children. Daily Dose of Reading provides information and materials to participating pediatric practices at no cost to those practices. Pediatricians and nurse practitioners then talk to the families they treat to get the message out that reading must be part of each family's daily routine. A designated Site Coordinator works with each pediatric practice. This person is responsible for checking in with pediatric staff to make sure they have what they need in the office to implement Daily Dose of Reading's program. Individual site coordinators are listed in the Participating Practices section of the website. The Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for publicizing Daily Dose of Reading events and activities, and furthering Daily Dose of Reading's mission. Contact Debbie Rosen, Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator at DRosen@dailydoseofreading.org. The Program Coordinator develops programming for the organization, works with the Advisory Board, and supervises the Site Coordinators. Contact Ruth Mardell, Program Coordinator, at RMardell@dailydoseofreading.org. The Executive Director oversees staff, works with the Board of Directors, and deals with fund-raising, grant-writing, and other administration of the program.
